South Korea Day 2: Gapyeong Begonia Bird Bark + Aqua Garden + Nami Island + Starfield COEX Library

Day 2 officially started with an 8:30 AM assembly call, and despite sleeping late the night before, everyone surprisingly looked energized and excited. Everyone was on time, too. The weather that morning was chilly, around 13 degrees Celsius, and honestly felt so refreshing compared to Cebu summer heat when we departed. Haha. We were actually really lucky because our trip happened during what felt like the last stretch of spring weather in Korea before summer fully kicked in.

Gapyeong Begonia Bird Park, South Korea Gapyeong Begonia Bird Park

Our first stop was Gapyeong Bird Park, which turned out to be such a fun and relaxing start to the day. There were different kinds of birds and interactive areas that made the experience enjoyable for everyone.

Aqua Garden, Gapyeong, South Korea Aqua Garden

After that, we visited Aqua Garden. Aside from the cozy café atmosphere, they had the cutest animals inside, including capybaras, otters, hamsters, and more. This is definitely a perfect destination if you travel with kids. They also have a cafe inside where you can enjoy their cute turtle-shaped breads, pastries, and refreshing drinks.

Nami Island, South Korea

We then had lunch before making our way to the iconic Nami Island. No matter how many photos or K-dramas prepare you for it, seeing it in person still feels dreamy. The tree-lined paths, cool weather, and vibrant atmosphere made the entire place feel straight out of a movie scene. Everywhere you looked felt postcard-worthy. It was, yes, a bit crowded since it was a Saturday (and a Korean holiday!) but still, it was worth the visit.

Starfield Library COEX Mall, South Korea

Lastly, we visited the Starfield Library inside the COEX Mall. It was indeed a huge library but somehow, it was kinda underwhelming. It was crowded and people were taking photos and videos in every corner. But as a first-timer, it was still worth paying a visit, because at least, now I know how it looked like in person. Lol. Will I come back? Yes, actually. But maybe next time, I'll go there during daytime and not on a weekend and spend at least an hour or two! Because during this time, we only had 30 minutes to explore the place which was kind of a bummer but it was already late and the mall's almost closing. So yeah, maybe then, when I come back, I can fully appreciate this huge library.
