This trip was also extra meaningful for me because I wasn’t just traveling as a tourist. I also came as a tour escort representing Mamala Travel, so part of my role was making sure all our clients were complete, updated, and properly coordinated with our Korean tour guide.
So anyway, our journey started with a flight from Cebu to Incheon via Cebu Pacific. We departed around 2:50 PM and landed at Incheon International Airport at around 8PM. Day 1 was mostly a travel day, but the excitement of finally being in Korea made every bit of exhaustion worth it.
But when we were on our way to the immigration, I became slightly nervous because most of our clients in the group were also first-timers in Korea. And I didn't have a clue how to navigate the airport! When I travel alone, I just follow the crowd. But taking care of 41 people (and making sure no one gets lost or left behind) was a different story. I had to make sure I always came in last. Thankfully, we reached the immigration and the queue was so long.
By the time we finally got through and met our Korean tour guide, it was already around 10 PM. We then headed to Incheon Hotel Youngjong and arrived close to 11 PM. I was tired, sleepy, but genuinely happy to finally be there.

Even though Day 1 mostly involved airports, waiting lines, and bus rides, it still felt special. After weeks of looking forward to this trip, I was finally in South Korea—a place I had only seen before in dramas, my friends' travel photos, and TikTok videos. And somehow, even after a long and tiring day, everything still felt exciting because this was the start of something I had been dreaming about for so long.
