And last weekend was just amazing timing. My sister suddenly messaged me saying we book a room at a resort in Mactan for an overnight stay because she herself needed a reset, too.
So last weekend was a tiny pause from life. Something slow and easy. Something that didn’t require planning or itineraries. Just... presence.
And looking at the photos now, it feels even sweeter. Zayn, my sister, and I eating good food together, watching the sunset together, dipping in the shallow sea together, and laughing at the most random things together. Yeah it wasn’t a big trip like what we had on Zayn's birthday last year, but it reminded me of something I sometimes forget: rest doesn't need to be grand to be healing.
These are the moments I want more of actually. Uncomplicated days, a bit of sun, people I love, and a soft reminder that even in seasons of chaos, I can create my own calm.
Here’s to more slow days, more recharging, and hopefully an actual vacation next year. 🌿✨
