Skincare Test: Benton Aloe BHA Skin Toner

Quick Review: Benton Aloe BHA Skin Toner
Blackheads is one of the most common skin concerns of almost everyone — most especially those who have an oily combination skin like me. I have tried a lot of products to address this problem — nose strips, clay masks, power liquid—but haven't found the one that really works. I stopped using nose strips when I learned that it's actually harmful and may cause skin damage in the future. Clay masks are too superficial for me, I don't think they really work, and I've tried the famous blackhead power liquid but to no success. I almost lost hope but I stumbled upon this toner when I was searching for other ways to solve my blackheads problem. I thought, "Why not give it a try?" So I checked out the Benton Aloe BHA Skin Toner from my shopping cart without expectations and whatnot.

The Benton Aloe BHA Skin Toner comes in a 200mL spray bottle and costs around Php 800-900 depending on which store you buy from. Its main ingredients are of course: aloe vera which helps soothe irritations and hydrates skin, and 0.5% salicylic acid which is a beta hydroxy acid (BHA) which gently exfoliates dead skin cells, helps control sebum production, and treats blackheads and whiteheads. It also has snail mucin extract to help bring back the moisture in the skin.

I apply the toner every night and I use three pumps before patting it gently all over my face. I have read that you can also apply this using a cotton pad but I want all the product to be absorbed into my skin so I skipped the cotton pad. So my night time routine for the past two weeks have only been cleanser, Benton Aloe BHA Skin Toner, hyaluronic acid serum, eye serum, and sunflower oil.

I took a photo of my skin's current condition before using the toner because I wanted to check if there will be any effects after using it for a couple of days. And as you can see on the photo above, my blackheads are very visible especially on my nose. And this has been my major skin problem for years already.

On the fourth day, when I took the photo for progress update, I got disappointed because I didn't see any changes. In fact, I thought my blackheads became even more visible but I told myself to be patient so I continued using it.

Seventh day, I can already see very minimal changes on my nose area but I wasn't convinced still.

On the tenth day, when I took another photo for the progress, I was surprised that's why I had to place it side by side with the Day 1 photo. And that's when I confirmed that the toner worked. I even had my sister look at the photos and she agreed that there is indeed a difference. I was so happy that instead of posting about this after my inital 14-day usage plan, I published it already to share this story.

I love that the Benton Aloe BHA Skin Toner helped treat my blackheads problem and I also love that it's very gentle and doesn't give any stinging sensation. The consistency is very light and watery that's why 2-3 pumps is already enough. I'm so happy that I finally found a product that really works for my blackheads problem.
