About three weeks ago, I finally set my foot on the white sands of Bantayan Island for the first time. I went there together with my teammates for a weekend getaway. The days before have been so hectic with all the planning and budgeting for the trip. We've been searching for nice resorts and fortunately, our team lead suggested we book at Santa Fe Beach Club.
Getting there:
- From North Bus Terminal, ride a bus going to Hagnaya. Estimated travel time is 3-4 hours. Aircon bus is P170 while a Non-Aircon bus is P132.
- Upon arrival at Hagnaya port, take a ferry bound to Santa Fe Port. Estimated travel time is 1 hour and 30 minutes. Ferry ticket costs P170 plus a P10 terminal fee.
- From Santa Fe Port, you can get around the island by riding a tricycle or by renting a bicycle for the day. Tricycle fare is P20 while bicycle rental is P150/day. However, if you book at Santa Fe Beach Club, you can avail their free transport service going to the resort from Santa Fe Port and vice versa.
We arrived at Hagnaya Port at 10AM and took the 10:30AM ferry schedule. However, it was already 11AM when the ferry departed so we arrived at Santa Fe Port at around 12:30NN. After getting off the ferry, we walked to the pier and saw the resort's staff flashing a welcome note with my name on it (since I was the one who took charge of our accommodations).
Check-in time is 1:30PM but even though we arrived an hour early, they still accommodated us and helped us settle to our rooms.

Their cottage rooms were nice and each had its own porch which was a good place for us to gather and relax. Each room had its own toilet and bathroom as well.
As much as I really wanted to jump and swim, I was not able to because after taking lunch, we all rested and had power naps to recover from the exhausting trip we had.
The next morning, I woke up at 5AM to catch the sunrise.
Overall, our stay at Santa Fe Beach Club was great. Their staff were nice, very accommodating, and provided great service. Their rooms were very affordable, too.
