My Quarantine Food Finds
Aside from working out and adding almost anything to my Shopee cart, I have been ordering a lot of food from several stores online. Very ironic, isn't it? Haha. Anyway, I have been sharing my food finds on my personal Facebook profile and I even "influenced" some of my friends and acquaintances to order the same food too. Hahaha. So I thought, why not compile them into one blogpost, right? And this would be so much easier for you to go through whenever you're looking for ideas on which food you would like to try next time. Damay-damay na 'to!

Third Wave Coffee Cebu

If you're looking for hot and iced coffee, cold brews, and pastries, Third Wave Coffee got it for you. I discovered them at Ayala Center Cebu a few months back while I was on a lunch break. Felipe's Kitchenette

To be honest, I am not a fan of shrimp pastes but I got really curious because Felipe's Kitchenette's sautéed shrimp paste had so many good reviews. And also, it's my dear friend's Mom's business and I wanted to support it. So I ordered two original-flavored shrimp paste (they have a spicy variant and my friend gifted me one) and a kilo of apple mangoes. I had it delivered through Lalamove and when it arrived, I had the apple mangoes washed and peeled immediately so I can pair it with the shrimp paste. And my gosh, it's so good. No kidding. It has the perfect balance of saltiness and sweetness. I am in love with their shrimp paste that I grab a spoonful of it for every meal. The spicy variant is really mild so non-spicy lovers can still enjoy it. They recently released a spicier variant and that's what I'm going to try next.

What I ordered:
  • Original Sautéed Shrimp Paste - Php 129 (225g/8oz)
  • Apple Mango - Php 115/kg

Important Details:
  • Delivery Schedule: Monday - Saturday
  • Delivery Coverage: Not specified
  • Delivery Options: Maxim, Angkas, Grab, Lalamove
  • Modes of Payment: COD, GCash, Bank Transfer/ Deposit (BDO, Security Bank, PNB)

Hideout Bakehouse

It was a Monday night, past 11PM, when I randomly saw their sponsored ad on my Facebook newsfeed. The very colorful pan de sals really caught my attention so I instantly sent them a message on Facebook and I was surprised they responded at that hour. Haha. I ordered a dozen of the flavored pan de sal and since they have a 2-day lead time, my order was scheduled to be delivered on Wednesday afternoon. I settled my payment through GCash including the Lalamove delivery fee.

Hideout Bakehouse currently has five pan de sal flavors: ube cheese, matcha cream, red velvet, choco loco, and yema. Although the breads were not hot when it arrived, they were still good. I am an ube lover but it was the yema flavor that really got me. It was not too sweet and the yema filling was perfect and sinfully good.

What I ordered:
  • 1 dozen Flavored Pan de Sal - Php 230

Important Details:
  • Delivery Coverage: Anywhere in Cebu
  • Delivery Options: Any third party delivery service
  • Modes of Payment: Bank Transfer (BPI and BDO), GCash
  • Contact Number: 0932 113 2300

I Love Sweets by Momi A

I've seen their post on a food group on Facebook and since I missed chocolate crinkles so much, I had to order. Reasons. Haha. They also offer scheduled meetups in Lapu-Lapu and Banilad areas so it was cool for me. I ordered three packs of chocolate crinkles and they were so kind to give me two free brownies. When I took home the goodies after the meetup, I let Zayn try the crinkles and he loved it. Each crinkle had a marshmallow inside it and I love that the crinkles were soft and chewy. It had the right level of sweetness too. Their brownies were so good as well that I'm thinking of ordering it next time.

What I ordered:
  • Choco Mallow Moist Crinkles - Php 55/pack of 6pcs

  • Meetup Points: Lapu-Lapu and Banilad

The Grainery Cebu

I have long been wanting to try the famous Thai dessert, Mango Sticky Rice, and when I saw another sponsored ad on my Facebook newsfeed from The Grainery Cebu promoting their own take of the dessert, I saved it for future reference. I messaged them on the same night I messaged Hideout Bakehouse. Haha. And again, I was surprised because they too, responded at that hour! Haha. I had my orders scheduled to be delivered on a Thursday, the day after my Hideout Bakehouse pan de sal adventure.

And wow, I was not disappointed. I can't say if it can be at par with the original Thai version since I haven't been to Thailand yet but it was good. The coconut milk was creamy and had the right level of sweetness. I also ordered the Taiwanese Chicken Chop Bento and it was so good too. Zayn loved the chicken chop so much. It was also my first time to try a Taiwan-style kimchi and I wanted more. I will be ordering again soon and I'll try asking them if they accept solo orders for the kimchi. Haha.

  • Taiwanese Chicken Chop Bento - Php 100
  • Chicken Skin - Php 75 (with free spicy vinegar)

UBEC Cakes and Pastries

I knew about UBEC Cakes from Tasty Cebu PH and like what I said, I am a die-hard ube fan so I couldn't just let it pass. I filled out their order form on Facebook and received a confirmation through text the next day. The ube cake supreme was so delightful to eat. It had an oozing aroma of ube which made it even more enjoyable. Zayn does not like ube that much but he really loved this ube cake. It's one of the best ube cakes I've had so far.

What I ordered:
  • Ube Cake Supreme (6x2 tin can) - Php 350

Even before the quarantine, I have longed for Chocolate Cakes by Nicole's chocolate dream cake because people have been raving about it. I saw them on Ellen Adarna's Instagram stories and it was definitely the Choco Butternut Cake that caught my attention. I saved their page for future reference and days later, I messaged them.
